Life and Education Affiliates (SmileyTalk) was incorporated in January 2010 by award-winning entrepreneur Martin G Harris and launched in June 2011 in Wales.

SmileyTalk opens a world of communication for schools, businesses, community organisations and other groups all over the world. Its automated translations are a great aid for language learning, whether through communicating with groups in other countries or in a classroom/teaching environment. SmileyTalk is fun, safe and easy to use. It encourages individuals to share their language and world with others, breaking down language and cultural barriers. It is safe and a great gateway to e-learning and global cohesion.

SmileyTalk as a product to date has been put through rigorous testing, trialing and piloting with a cross section of potential client groups over a two year period. It has also market tested its product with its prospective audience to ensure its projected pricing and methodology of delivery fits.

SmileyTalk is a unique concept; there is no other piece of software currently on the market offering pre-set language translation for this sector and within this format. The company has spent over 2 years researching the market, customer fit, product development and adjacent competitors working within the same market but with different products. A UK patent is pending; this has also confirmed that there is no other software product of this design currently on the market.

The company is currently looking to sell the product independently via direct sales executives. However it does intend to develop a franchising and licensing worldwide network to enable it to take the product into a global marketplace efficiently whilst retaining quality control of market development and product delivery.

SmileyTalk won the South Wales Business Awards 2011 - Technological & Innovative Business of the Year. Also SmileyTalk won the Conservative Party Start-Up Hub Competition - gaining the opportunity to present at the Conservative Party Conference 2011 - showcasing SmileyTalk to 13500 delegates including senior politicians and national press.
